What changed this month

Bullhorn’s September 23, 2026 GRID Talent Trends release reports that 92% of respondents who had been interviewed by an AI voice agent rated that experience as good as or better than a live recruiter interview. The broader study surveyed nearly 2,300 professionals who had worked with recruitment firms during the previous three years, across multiple regions.

Read the finding in context

The 92% result applies to the subgroup that experienced an AI voice interview. It is not a finding that 92% of all job seekers prefer AI, nor does satisfaction establish that AI makes better hiring decisions. Bullhorn is a recruiting technology vendor, which is relevant context when interpreting its research.

Our view: employers should evaluate the candidate experience and decision quality separately. A convenient process can still need stronger evidence, better escalation routes, or clearer communication.

What to do with the insight

Before introducing an automated step, decide what problem it solves. Make the purpose understandable, give candidates an appropriate way to reach a person, and monitor where people abandon the process. Keep a human accountable for interpreting the evidence in consequential hiring decisions.

For an executive or specialized search, technology should support a thoughtful conversation about the role, the person’s experience, and mutual expectations. Faster administration is useful when it creates room for that work.

Bring this into your next hiring decision.
